Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
Judy offers several styles of massage:
Swedish Massage
Long, slow, soothing strokes great for rest, relaxation and circulation. Very relaxing, while warming up your muscles for a deeper technique if so desired.
Deep Tissue Massage
Go to the edge of pain to spread the muscle fibers apart and unlock glued facial tissue (myofascial release & neuromuscular therapy) for a maximum therapeutic healing bodywork session. An extremely intense experience, allowing muscles to become longer and limbs to have a greater range of motion, deep tissue techniques encourage the body to return to a state of balance.
Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is a small contraction knot in muscle. It affects the muscle by keeping it both tight and weak. It keeps the muscle in contraction and restricts circulation. This results in the accumulation of toxins causing pain. By applying pressure to these knots and moving their position just
slightly allows the body to break the chain reaction. This type of work releases
endorphins, the body's natural painkiller.
Craniosacral
A hands on method that improves health and rebalances body function.
Lymph Drainage
By stimulating the lymphatic system you help the body remove the swelling and aid in the body's natural defense system
Reflexology
Reflexology is pressure to specific points on the bottom of the feet and palm of the hand. This pressure then stimulates specific organs and locations to heal.
Stretch Therapy
Muscles are manually manipulated by the
trainer as well as the client to ensure
complete stretching of the muscles.
Various types of stretching are
incorporated into the sessions to target
specific issues, based on the clients'
needs. Following a thorough assessment,
special attention is paid to muscle
groups causing pain or imbalance to
encourage proper alignment.
Aromatherapy
Essential oils that are inhaled into the
lungs offer both psychological and
physical benefits. Not only does the
aroma of the natural essential oil
stimulate the brain to trigger a
reaction, but when inhaled into the
lungs, the natural constituents
(naturally occurring chemicals) can
supply therapeutic benefit. Diffusing
eucalyptus essential oil to help ease
congestion is a prominent example.
